By Anonymous SEVILLE, Spain--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 14, 2002--FlyOver Technologies, Inc. announced today that the company's Visual Map(TM) technology was implemented in Kenwood's latest release of a Hard Disk Drive-based Car Navigation System in Japan, enriching users with Aerial map "Sky Cruise View".

It is the first car navigation system where aerial imagery is implemented as a realistic 3D navigation map with all map attributes. Using the database of aerial imagery, "Sky Cruise View" can indicate the current car position and trace the car movement in real-time via an on board GPS. In addition the "Sky Cruise View" provides route guidance and Point of Interest placement. "Sky Cruise View" can be displayed on split screens, can change map scales and angle of view continuously, and can scroll or turn around freely. The same familiar digital maps user interface, feel and use are implemented in the new "Sky Cruise View". "Sky Cruise View" supports 13 major Japanese cities.
Isaac Levanon, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of FlyOver, stated, "Kenwood's latest car navigation system is a vote of confidence in the commercializing value of FlyOver technology to enhance drivers' navigation experience. We overcame major technical barriers to provide smooth continues movements over the 3D image. It enables FlyOver to offer car navigation providers the benefit to integrate FlyOver technology without redesigning their hardware, hence reducing both cost and time to market."
About FlyOver
Operating in Japan, Singapore and Israel, FlyOver offers the world's most sophisticated and optimized image streaming with 3D maneuverability for digital navigation systems. The company's strategic partners include car navigation makers, mapping data and point of interest providers, aerial and satellite imagery sensing entities.
FlyOver provides Visual Map(TM) patented (pending) technology to replace static mapping with real high definition imagery (satellite/aerial) for all devices, including PCs, PDAs, In-Car Navigation Systems and mobile handsets, providing an interactive ability for people to view visual maps with motion (like a bird flying) and change the face of mapping. All is accessible over narrowband communication with extremely thin client viewer, as a software only solution with no hardware support, including DirectX, DirectDraw or OpenGL support.

By Anonymous SANTA CLARA, Calif. - March 6, 2002 - The U.S. Army has improved the ability of its computer users and information analysts to quickly navigate large-scale databases with the addition of Star Tree™ visual navigation from InxightŌ Software. Integration of Star Tree into the Army’s Hyperwave IS/6 knowledge management platform was done by Kanda Software of Concord, Mass.
“This is a great example of how two complementary technologies can be integrated to take the whole category to a new level,” said Ramana Rao, Inxight’s chief technology officer. “Hyperwave offers an extremely powerful platform for managing huge volumes of data in many different file types and formats, but the larger the knowledgebase the greater the challenge for the user to find the best possible information. Star Tree is the perfect addition to Hyperwave as it lets users navigate graphically instead of using text commands, which is more natural and has been shown to cut navigation time by more than 60 percent. In addition, the integration done by Kanda is truly seamless.”
Star Tree is Inxight’s proven technology technique for visualizing and navigating large hierarchies of information. Users can quickly view and intuitively understand relationships by simply clicking or dragging the nodes on an interactive tree diagram. It is easy to focus on areas of interest while maintaining a sense of that area's relationship to other information in the tree. By visually communicating multiple levels of information in a single view, Star Tree users can quickly see and understand entire Web sites, information directories, catalogs, organization charts and large document collections.
The Hyperwave solution is a collaborative knowledge management system that allows the creation and access of information anywhere in the extended enterprise. The Hyperwave eKnowledge Infrastructure consists of three principal products that can be implemented as an individual or multiple solution: the eKnowledge Suite, the eKnowledge Portal and the eLearning Suite.
Together, these technologies allow users to correlate information from multiple formats such as documents, images, charts, graphs, and tables and to navigate them based on their associations to one another. Star Tree creates a visual information navigation system that will help improve the discovery and handling of extensive and constantly changing data in Army’s databases. Faster and more intuitive data navigation will translate into faster and better decision making by the information analysts and other military personnel.
